The Hickory wood offers a lot of charactoristics. The customer wished for stain grade but hickory is a good choice for natural finish with contrasting colors throughout the wood grain.

A closer shot of the upper cabinet shows a large knotty area on the door which is sometimes preferred by customers looking for a rustic look. Can be popular in the hill country.
Hickory wood is referred by some as Pecan. The wood has a rustic appearance but can make for a very nice modern feel in your kitchen. We love working with hickory. Hickory is the prettiest wood we work with, although that statement is strictly meant to be an opinion. Hickory rivals hard maple in the overall hardness of the board. Hickory certainly has some preferrable characteristics and is the preferred wood in our cabinet shop.
